The Water Resources Authority has announced 120 job vacancies across various departments as it seeks to strengthen the regulation and management of the country’s water resources.
In a notice dated May 12, 2026, the authority said the recruitment targets professionals in technical, legal, engineering, finance, ICT and support service roles.
WRA, a state corporation under the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation, established under the Water Act 2016, said successful candidates will serve on a six-month probation period before confirmation to permanent and pensionable terms based on performance.
Among the advertised positions are senior water resources officer, hydrologist II, geologist II, chemist I, legal officer II, engineer I, ICT Officer II and community engagement officer II.
The authority also advertised vacancies for drivers, office assistants, customer care assistants, laboratory technologists and assistant engineering officers.
Some of the positions with the highest number of vacancies include 15 slots for geologist II, 10 vacancies for water resources assistant III in enforcement and compliance, and nine positions each for hydrologist II and chemist I.
WRA said interested applicants can access details of the vacancies and application procedures through its official website.
Applications must be submitted on or before June 1.

“Any form of canvassing shall lead to automatic disqualification. Only shortlisted candidates shall be contacted,” the notice stated.
The recruitment drive comes as the authority seeks to boost capacity in water regulation, permitting, hydrology, pollution control and community engagement across the country.
It is mandated through delegated authority on behalf of the national government to safeguard the right to clean water by ensuring that there is proper regulation of the management and use of water resources, in order to ensure sufficient water for everyone now and in the future.
The authority has been in existence for 24 years following its establishment under the Water Act, 2002 as the Water Resources Management Authority (WRMA).
