East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Member of Parliament Kanini Kega, has shared news of the death of his mother, expressing deep sorrow in a post on X. He did not provide further details surrounding her passing but described the loss as deeply painful.

In his message, he wrote: “I am devastated and heartbroken! It's well with my soul; however, it is difficult to believe that my mother has rested. Its painful.”

His post quickly attracted an outpouring of condolences from users on the platform, who extended messages of comfort and support following his bereavement.

Democracy for Citizens Party leader Rigathi Gachagua said,"  It is with profound sadness I have learnt the passing on of Mama Annah Nyatoro Wairimu, mother of EALA MP Hon. @kaninikega1, early today. It is only yesterday that I gave you an assignment to the United Kingdom as my younger brother only for you to arrive and receive the sad news. Please accept my heartfelt and sincere condolences at this difficult moment. To the larger family of Simon Ndung'u Mutitu, your friends and relatives, I pray for you during this difficult moment."
