Kenya Police Bullets head coach David Vijago says his side is fully focused on their upcoming fixtures as they close in on the FKF Women’s Premier League title and a potential CECAFA Women’s Champions League slot.

Vijago maintained that while the team’s 9-0 win over Vihiga Queens highlighted their dominance, attention has already shifted to maintaining consistency in the final stretch of the season.

“We will fight to the end. Our hopes are high. We are now at 95%. We have finished our home matches, now we have two away games. We look at CECAFA for now, but our main goal is to take the league and see those who are and are not ready to play in that tournament. It is usually league winners who play in that tournament. We knew we would win, but not by such a huge margin. The players really pushed themselves,” he said.

Forward Elizabeth Ochaka echoed the cautious approach despite the emphatic result, stressing the importance of taking each game as it comes. “First, I’d like to thank God for this win. We now have this game behind us.

Our next focus is Trinity Starlets. We can’t say we already have this win. We go a step at a time; we must fight. Trinity is a tight side, so we'll see how it goes. We will take each game at a time,” she said.

The result strengthened Kenya Police Bullets’ position at the top of the table with 46 points from 17 matches, ahead of Ulinzi Starlets in second place, as the race for the title and continental qualification intensifies.

Despite the heavy defeat, Vihiga Queens coach Boniface Nyamunyamuh conceded the title race is out of reach but said his focus is now on finishing strongly. “Our aim since the league started was to win it, but as things stand, it is mathematically difficult to overtake Police at the top. We accept the situation and shift focus to winning the remaining matches, at least to secure a top-three finish,” he said.
