Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua has intensified grassroots mobilisation efforts with the launch of a new party office in Oloitoktok Town, Kajiado County.

The move is part of a broader strategy to expand the party’s presence across the country ahead of the next general elections.

Gachagua, in a post, said the establishment of the office in Kajiado South reflects the party’s commitment to engaging directly with citizens at the local level.

"Our Party, the people's party - Democracy for the Citizens Party, remains upbeat in its philosophy. Today we reached out to the people of Oloiktoktok Town in Kajiado South and opened the party office,” he said.

He was accompanied by DCP Deputy Leader Cleophas Malala, Kiambu Senator Karungo wa Thangwa, among other allies.

The DCP leader said the party seeks to serve as a platform that prioritises the voices and aspirations of ordinary Kenyans.

He urged residents of Oloitoktok and the wider Kajiado region to embrace the party, describing it as a political vehicle responsive to public needs.

“To the people of Oloitoktok, here is your party of choice — a party that listens to you and carries your aspirations,” he added.

"God Bless Kajiado County," he concluded in his message.

The launch event attracted local supporters and party officials, signalling increased political activity in the region as parties begin early mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

It came a day after Gachagua attended a homecoming and thanksgiving ceremony in Kitengela, Kajiado County, where David Persaina was celebrated following his appointment as the pioneer National Chairperson of the party.

In his message, the ex-DP congratulated Persaina and expressed confidence in his leadership and ability to steer the party in line with its founding principles.

“As we celebrate you, we look forward to your ability to provide leadership with a lasting mark in the party whose philosophy is anchored on the principle of the common mwananchi,” he said.

He added that Persaina’s new role carries significant national responsibility, noting that the country would be keen to see decisions that reflect the will and expectations of the people.
