The 2026 Labour Day celebrations were held at Chavakali High School in Vihiga county on Friday, May 1.

President William Ruto presided over the 61st Labour Day fete, marking the first time the national event was held outside Nairobi.

The event, attended by various national leaders, including Cotu's Francis Atwoli, brought together workers from different sectors.

Workers showcased a range of products from their respective industry niches as they marched past the VIP podium, where Ruto and other dignitaries were seated, as shown in the collage below.

Companies present included Bata, EPZ, KCC, Securex, the hospitality industry, as well as teachers represented by their union Knut.
