Police in Kisumu East subcounty have arrested a key suspect linked to a robbery with violence incident reported in Chiga area.

According to police, officers from Chiga police station acted on a credible tip-off and conducted a swift tactical operation early Thursday morning.

The suspect was tracked down and arrested at his home in Kamrongo village, Chiga sub-location.

During the arrest, officers recovered a red Honda 125 motorcycle, which is believed to have been used to flee from the scene of the robbery.

The suspect was taken into custody at the police station, where he is being held pending processing and arraignment in court.

The recovered motorcycle has been secured and booked as an exhibit to support ongoing investigations.

The National Police Service commended residents of the area for sharing information that contributed to the successful arrest and recovery of the motorcycle.

Police further reiterated their commitment to public safety and urged members of the public to continue reporting suspicious activities.
