
The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has sent a message of condolence to Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir following the death of his father, Mzee Edwin Koech.
UDA Secretary-General Hassan Omar conveyed the party’s sympathies to Chirchir and his family, describing the late Koech as a man who lived a life of service and impacted many in his community.
“We honour the life of Mzee Koech as one marked by dedicated service to his community. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and steady guidance, through which he positively touched many lives,” Omar said.
The party expressed solidarity with the Cabinet Secretary and his family during the period of mourning, offering prayers for strength and comfort.
“During this difficult time, we stand in solidarity with you in grief and prayer, asking for strength, comfort, and peace for the entire family,” Omar said.
“May the soul of Mzee Edwin Koech rest in eternal peace.”

President William Ruto sent a message of condolence to CS Chirchir and expressed sympathy during the period of mourning, describing the loss as a difficult moment.
“Our sincere condolences to my friend, Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir, and the entire family on the passing of your father, Edwin Koech,” Ruto said.
He paid tribute to the late Koech, noting his contribution to society and the impact he had on those around him.
“We honour Mzee Koech for a life well lived in service to his community. He touched many lives through his kindness, generosity, and steady guidance,” the President added.
Ruto further assured the family of support during the grieving period, saying, “We stand with you in this time of grief and pray for strength and comfort for the family. May he rest in peace.”
Leaders across the country continue to send messages of condolence to Chirchir and his family following the loss.
Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot sent a message of condolence to Chirchir sying his thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.
Cheruiyot described the late Koech as a strong guiding pillar not only to his family but also to many others who benefited from his mentorship.
In his message, Cheruiyot noted that Mzee Koech played a fatherly role to countless individuals, offering guidance and support that extended beyond his immediate and extended family.
Cheruiyot praised the values Koech espoused and the lessons he imparted, saying they will continue to inspire those who knew him.
He also highlighted Koech’s foresight and ability to encourage others to pursue ambitions beyond perceived limits.
