Police officers in Nakuru West have arrested two members of a criminal gang known as Confirm, ending their streak of violence in the area.
The suspects were arrested during a targeted operation by officers from Rhonda Police Station.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the arrests followed a tip-off that led officers to intercept the duo while they were terrorising and robbing members of the public.
“Acting on a tip-off, the officers launched a targeted operation, arresting the duo red-handed terrorising and robbing innocent members of the public,” the statement said.
Police say the suspects, who had long evaded arrest, were neutralised and handcuffed before they could escape.
Preliminary investigations link them to the infamous Confirm gang, a criminal syndicate that has been terrorising Nakuru West residents.
Beyond the recent robbery, detectives believe the two are prime suspects in a string of serious crimes, including murder and robbery with violence. Their arrest adds to that of their accomplice, who is already in custody.
The three suspects are currently being processed as detectives tighten the noose to ensure a strong case before they face trial.
“The trio is currently being processed as detectives tighten the noose, ensuring a water-tight case before they face the scales of justice in court,” DCI said.
Authorities say the arrests reaffirm the National Police Service’s commitment to dismantling criminal syndicates across the country.
Police have urged members of the public to continue sharing information that can help track down other suspects linked to the gang.
The arrests mark a significant step in restoring peace and security in Nakuru West, sending a clear message that organised crime will not be tolerated.
