Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, inspected ongoing road construction works in Kagumo, Kirinyaga Central Constituency, Kirinyaga County.
The Government has cleared Sh177 billion owed to road contractors, paving the way for the resumption of works on about 6,000 kilometres of roads that had stalled since 2021.
In Kirinyaga County, 510 kilometres of roads are currently being tarmacked at a cost of Sh29 billion.

The Deputy President toured the Kagumo–Mununga–Kiamaina–Kianjagi Road project to assess progress.
He was accompanied by Governor Anne Waiguru, Deputy Governor David Githanda, Kirinyaga Central MP Joseph Gitari, Woman Representative Cynthia Muge, County Assembly Speaker Muteti Murimi, MCAs, other leaders, and residents.
