Kanyari Explains Why He Left
According to the preacher, the luxury home did not meet his expectations in terms of lifestyle and environment.
Kanyari recently told his congregation that despite the mansion’s high-end features, including a swimming pool and modern amenities, he found it difficult to adjust to life in the quiet neighbourhood.
“I have bought a very decent house with all amenities like swimming pool, very smart. I have stayed there for two days and I got bored,” he said.
He explained that the silence and lack of social interaction made the experience uncomfortable, especially compared to the lively atmosphere he was used to in Nairobi’s Eastlands.

Preference for Simpler Living
Kanyari further stated that he prefers environments with more human interaction, noting that wealth does not always translate to comfort.
“Do not desire the life of wealth; it is a lonely life,” he told his followers. “It is better to have that money but eat with the people of Dandora and Githurai. You will be comfortable and your soul will be at peace.”
He also mentioned missing everyday experiences such as street food and casual interactions with people in busier neighbourhoods, where he is often recognised and engaged by the public.
