‎The Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) volleyball team outside hitter Verosally Nasike Sikuta is bullish that the side has what it takes to storm all the way to the final of the CAVB Women’s African Volleyball Championships following a commanding start to the continental showpiece.

KPC has been drawn in a competitive Pool B alongside Cameroon’s VCL, Sococim Club of Senegal, KSC (Kalibi Sporting Club) of Ghana and GLC (Gender Light Club) of Burundi in the ongoing ‎ ‎championship in Cairo, Egypt.

‎KPC opened their campaign in emphatic fashion, dismantling Ghana’s KSC 3-0 on Monday.

‎The Kenyan powerhouse stamped their authority early, showcasing power, precision, and cohesion to take the sets 25-19, 25-21, and 25-13.
‎
‎They carried that ruthless momentum into their second group clash on Tuesday evening, brushing aside Burundi’s GLC in another one-sided 3-0 victory, with dominant set scores of 25-8, 25-7 and 25-9.
‎
‎From the first whistle, the Kenyan giants underlined their title credentials, unleashing a relentless attacking display that left the Burundian debutants chasing shadows.
‎
‎KPC, fondly dubbed the “Oil Queens,” leaned on their towering presence and wealth of international experience to completely neutralise GLC’s net play, dictating the tempo from start to finish.
‎
Although GLC showed brief moments of resistance, they were ultimately overwhelmed by the depth and quality of a KPC roster stacked with Kenyan national team stars.
‎
‎Sikuta was quick to underline the team’s dominance in the opening fixtures.
‎
‎“We played KSC yesterday and won 3-0, and today we also won 3-0 against GLC. We ensured they didn’t reach 10 points in all three sets,” she said.
‎
‎She also hailed the team’s unity and morale, which were the key ingredients in their early success.
‎
‎“We played well, everybody enjoyed it, and we are looking forward to the next games.”
‎
‎With confidence surging and momentum firmly on their side, the Oil Queens have set their sights on the ultimate prize.
‎
‎“We want to reach the finals, be up there, and earn a place at the World Championships,” Sikuta added.
