The East African boxing scene is heating up once again. Tanzanian showman Karim Mandonga and Kenyan boxer Majembe have taken their rivalry to social media. Fans are now speculating that the two could soon meet in the ring.
The exchange began on Instagram, where both fighters posted videos and comments targeting each other. These digital "jabs" have quickly gone viral across the region.
The ‘Hiroshima’ Warning
Karim Mandonga, popularly known as "Mtu Kazi," initiated the latest round of threats. Known for his theatrical promotion and uniquely named punches, Mandonga told his Kenyan rival to prepare for a heavy defeat.

He claimed his arrival in Kenya would be devastating.
"I’m coming to Kenya to crush you like the Hiroshima bomb," Mandonga posted. He warned Majembe that he was coming to "finish" him.
Mandonga also introduced a new name for his fighting style. He told Majembe to watch out for "Ngumi Lumaciii." He ended his post by referring to the Kenyan fighter as a rat.
Majembe Fires Back
Majembe was quick to respond to the Tanzanian’s provocations. He dismissed Mandonga’s threats and mocked the veteran fighter’s age.
Majembe told Mandonga to stay out of the business of younger athletes.
"Old man, I will beat that meddling out of you," Majembe wrote in a post. He added that Mandonga should forget about "joining youth fights."
In a follow-up video, Majembe suggested that Mandonga has made a mistake by picking this fight. "Mandonga, old man... you’ve touched the wrong place, my friend," he warned.

Majembe also challenged Mandonga’s physical readiness. He told the Tanzanian to "cut weight" before they can talk about a serious bout. He expressed confidence that he could end the fight using his "Somali box" technique.
"Elders like you are the ones I beat... cut weight, then come,” Majembe teased further.
A Growing Rivalry
This is not the first time Mandonga has targeted Kenyan boxers. He previously gained massive popularity in Kenya after a high-profile win against Daniel Wanyonyi in Nairobi. His ability to sell a fight through "trash talk" has made him a household name.

Majembe, representing the Kenyan side, seems eager to defend his home turf. He emphasised that in the world of boxing, there is no room for talk without action.
Fans are now waiting for promoters to step in. If the Instagram banter is anything to go by, a potential fight between Mandonga and Majembe would be one of the most-watched sporting events in East Africa this year.
