Party honcho bends to will of juniors refusing to obey verbal orders

A powerful party supremo is reportedly grappling with rising insubordination within his outfit. This is after some junior officials allegedly began openly disregarding his directives. Our moles say the latest incident left the boss fuming after a junior officer supposedly handling a sensitive docket declined to act on a verbal instruction. Instead, the official is said to have asked the supremo to put the directive in writing and copy the party chairman before any action could be taken. The unusual request reportedly caught the big man off guard, forcing him to draft the letter anyway to push through the instruction. Party insiders say the issue has triggered fears it could embolden others to start questioning directives that were previously taken as final.

Still on political parties, a recently elevated political figure in a major party is increasingly becoming a headache for senior officials. Why? The official has the alleged habit of showing up to nearly every strategy meeting accompanied by close family members. These family members hold no official position in the outfit. What has irked many officials is that the relatives not only sit through sensitive deliberations but also appear to seemingly influence discussions. Some party officials supposedly complain the leader often defers to the ever-present family voices even on weighty matters requiring political and organisational expertise. The growing unease is now fuelling quiet murmurs within the ranks, with a section of officials warning the blurring of family and party affairs could easily undermine internal decision-making if it is not addressed soon.
