The incident was reported on March 8 at around 8.30 am after the body was spotted along the river at the Gitare Marigo area.
Upon examination, police discovered the body had multiple deep cuts on the head, chest, neck and back, injuries that investigators say are inconsistent with drowning and are believed to have been inflicted using sharp objects.
Detectives suspect the man may have been killed elsewhere and the body was dumped into the swollen river.
The scene was processed by crime scene investigators and the body moved to Nairobi Funeral Home awaiting identification and postmortem examination.
