A man was fatally stabbed during a domestic dispute in Tassia, Nairobi, police and neighbours said.

Police said Kennedy Juma had been engaged in a fight with his wife in their house before it turned tragic.

He was stabbed in the chest and rushed to a local hospital, where he died on the night of February 25.

The woman was later attacked by a mob following the incident before police rescued her and took her to hospital.

She was treated and discharged before being detained for murder.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.

Meanwhile, a man was found dead near a gold mining site in Macalder, Migori County.

Police said preliminary findings showed the man was killed elsewhere and the body dumped at the site.

In the same area, a miner died in an accident at a gold mining site.

Police said Philip Ochieng, 29, was working at the site in Kalwal area and was repairing a shaft when he slid and fell into a hole.

He was rescued and rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said such deaths have been on the rise in the area. There are calls for action to ensure the safety of miners at the sites.

Dozens of people have died at the sites in the past year, while others have been left with injuries. The victims were miners who ventured into the sites for a living.
