Eldas MP Adan Keynan has reiterated the crucial role played by religious institutions in inculcating high moral standards and guiding society toward ethical conduct.

Speaking in Eldas town during the graduation ceremony of the first batch of learners of Markaz Al-Mubarak Madrassa, where he was the chief guest, Keynan lauded religious leaders for remaining steadfast in dispensing their mandate of spiritual guidance and moral instruction.

He noted that religious institutions continue to serve as pillars of stability, particularly when communities face mounting social and economic challenges.

Keynan emphasised that religious organisations not only provide spiritual nourishment but also act as centers for character formation, peace building, and community cohesion.

He observed that through sermons, mentorship programmess, and outreach initiatives, religious institutions  have consistently championed values such as integrity, respect, compassion, and responsibility.

He further said beyond strengthening faith, the institutions cultivate discipline, social responsibility, respect for elders and community cohesion, ultimately guiding young people to become principled citizens who promote peace, social harmony and sustainable community development.

“I want in a special way to thank and commend our religious leaders for their unwavering commitment to promoting harmony and discouraging social vices. They remain at the heart of our society. Their teachings shape the conscience of our people and help nurture responsible citizens. I don’t want to imagine how society would have been without them,” Keynan said.

“Their influence has significantly contributed to maintaining moral uprightness among the youth and our young ones. This collaboration between leaders and religious institutions is essential in addressing issues such as radicalization, drug abuse, and moral decay,” he added.

Keynan further called on parents and guardians to work closely with faith institutions to ensure that children grow up grounded in strong moral and spiritual foundations.

“I want to urge for continued partnership between the government and religious stakeholders. Moral integrity remains a cornerstone of sustainable development and peaceful coexistence,” he said.

Sheikh Abass and Sheikh Daud lauded Keynan for his unwavering support toward religious institutions in the area.

Abass singled out the  legislator’s continued efforts in facilitating the construction and renovation of mosques and madrassas  across the constituency noting that this has helped in promoting spiritual growth and strengthening moral values among residents.

“The support extended to our religious institutions has greatly contributed to nurturing discipline, unity, and high moral standards within our community. These institutions not only provide spiritual guidance but also serve as centers for education, conflict resolution, and social cohesion,” Abass said.
