Police are investigating the discovery of a female body in a bush in Ithekahuno, Gichira, Tetu, Nyeri County.

The body, which was decomposed when found on February 12, 2026, has not been immediately identified and was taken to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

In Fafi, Garissa County, a 40-year-old man, Yakub Kenadhid, was found dead under a tree.

Police said the body showed no signs of injuries and was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

In Lamu, a human skeleton was discovered in a garden.

A gardener reported finding the remains while working at the site. The skeleton was moved to the mortuary for further examination.

In Vigurungani, Kwale County, two men were stoned to death after being found escorting four bulls reported stolen in the area.

Police said the incident occurred in Kafichoni and that the bulls were later identified by their owner.

The victims, identified as Chigumba Mudune, 21, and Tsuma Munyambu, had their bodies set on fire. Police recovered the bodies and took them to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

In Ithanga, Muranga County, one man was killed and another seriously injured in a mob lynching in Ngati. The two were accused of theft before being attacked on the evening of February 12.

The deceased was taken to the mortuary, while the injured was rushed to hospital in serious condition.

Police reiterated that mob justice is illegal and urged communities to surrender suspects to authorities for proper investigation and prosecution.

They said up to four separate cases of mob violence are reported daily across the country and described the trend as worrying.

Meanwhile, in Bungoma County, a man voluntarily surrendered to police in Busia, more than 100 kilometres from his home, confessing to the murder of his wife, Metrine Wandera, 25, at their matrimonial home on February 11, 2026.

He told officers he killed her after finding her in a love triangle with another man.

The suspect said he bludgeoned his wife before fleeing the scene, fearing a mob attack. He was detained in Busia pending interrogation and later moved to Bungoma for arraignment.

The body was scheduled for autopsy.
