Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka has defended the United Opposition’s slogan of 'Ruto Must Go' as a rallying call for change.
Kalonzo says that contrary to attacks by President William Ruto that his opponents have no agenda outside the Ruto Must Go, the team is well organised with an agenda that can only be achieved with Ruto’s exit.
“The current regime attacks us daily because they sense what we already know: change is coming, and it is inevitable. They claim we lack an agenda. The truth? They fear our agenda,” the ex-Vice President said.
Speaking in Baltimore, United States of America, on Saturday night while meeting with a group of Kenyans in the diaspora, the Wiper Leader said one of the agendas will be abolishing the controversial Affordable Housing levy and reviewing tax laws.
“We will abolish the housing levy and end the era of over taxation that has strangled Kenyan workers. We will restore dignity to the Kenyan payslip, ensuring that hard work builds futures, not just government coffers,” he said.
Kalonzo added, “We will rebuild our education system to the world-class standard that President Kibaki and I once championed, a system that prepares Kenyans to compete globally, not just survive locally.”
The Opposition chief, who is eyeing the 2027 joint United Opposition Presidential ticket, said that as part of achieving their mission, they must dismantle Ruto’s economic architecture by removing him from power.
“But let us be honest: none of this happens without the first, non-negotiable step. Ruto must go. You cannot reform a system while leaving its architect in charge. Real change demands real accountability. That is where we begin”
The Wiper leader said he held a powerful town hall with Kenyans in Baltimore, and left profoundly moved by the clarity, courage, and conviction he witnessed.
“I was particularly inspired by the Gen Z leaders of the 625 Movement, a generation that refuses to bow, refuses to be silenced, and refuses to accept the decay of our nation as inevitable. They have shown us that Kenya's future belongs to those who dare to demand better.”
He said the diaspora raised critical questions about representation, inclusion, and the direction of the country.
“Let me be unequivocal: In the government we are forming, the diaspora will not be reduced to election-season props or symbolic appointments. You will have a seat at the table, not as guests, but as architects of our national transformation. We will honour competence, contribution, and credibility, not political convenience.”

Speaking in Mombasa during Nyota funds disbursement, he said the country needs issue-based politics focused on solutions rather than endless political agitation.
The President accused opposition leaders of recycling the same one-term rhetoric without offering clear alternatives on the economy, jobs and the cost of living.
“What is your agenda? It can’t be to remove Ruto from office. They don’t have a youth agenda, they have no policy and have nothing to offer,” Ruto said.
Ruto said his administration remains focused on delivering its development agenda and urged Kenyans to judge leaders by tangible programmes rather than slogans.
