Members of a county assembly are baying for the blood of a governor’s aide after he allegedly vanished with cash meant for the ward representatives. The aide, popularly known as “Mr Fix It”, is said to have been tasked with delivering a New Year gift from the governor to MCAs, funds that never reached the intended beneficiaries. He has not been seen at the county headquarters since early January. Insiders say he remains an employee of the county government amid mounting political tension.

A first-term UDA governor recently caused drama at a popular city hotel after a confrontation turned heated. Eyewitnesses said the incident began when a lawyer, who has provided legal services to the county for years, confronted the governor during a meeting with senior county officials. The lawyer reportedly demanded an explanation over the governor’s refusal to pay more than Sh800 million allegedly owed for services rendered. Tension escalated when the governor angrily accused the lawyer of allegedly attempting to defraud the county using fictitious bills, drawing attention from hotel guests and staff.

It appears a vocal lawmaker, who has been sending mixed signals over his political stance, is in trouble. The legislator has supposedly become a subject of suspicion and mistrust among his colleagues. During a recent meeting of party members, he was confronted over his purported shifting positions, with some branding him a mole, allegedly gathering intelligence for a rival outfit. He was forced to explain himself, but insiders say his defence did little to allay concerns, leaving relations strained and his standing within the party uncertain.

Is a senior leader in Parliament avoiding a former governor who has been frequenting his office? This appears to be the case. For a record three weeks, the former governor has yet to meet the leader despite camping in his office almost daily. The ex-governor is reportedly seeking help to secure a State appointment but has so far been unsuccessful. It remains unclear why the leader is reluctant to meet him, though insiders claim the former governor has seemingly become a bother with incessant phone calls and messages.
