A 25-year-old hacked and killed his 56-year-old father after a domestic feud in Konoin, Bomet County.

Police said one Kipyegon Kosgei, 56, was killed by his son in the domestic feud.

His body had a deep cut on the neck when it was found on Monday after the murder. The assailant placed the killer weapon on the table after the drama, leaving his father dead at the entrance of the house.

A mob responded to the scene and beat the suspect before police came to his rescue. The body was moved to the mortuary as the suspect was taken to the hospital for medical attention under police guard.

Elsewhere a five-year-old girl drowned in a pool of water as she played with her friends at a gold processing site in Masara, Migori County.


The girl was a pupil at Kotuga Primary School in PPI. She is said to have slid into the pool of water on Monday afternoon as she played there. The body was retrieved from the water and moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

Police visited the scene and announced investigations were ongoing. In Maili Saba, Kwanza, Trans Nzoia County, a decomposed leg of a woman was found in Chemanur village. This was after it had been dragged to the scene by a dog, police said.

Police said the left leg and torso of the body were missing. The leg was moved to the mortuary in the area pending investigations.

The local officials appealed to anyone with a missing female relative to visit the Kitale mortuary for identification and autopsy. And a man was stoned to death after he had slashed a villager in an argument over missing cows in Kehancha, Migori County.

The two men had argued over a missing cow when one of them accused the other of claiming he was a thief. He then slashed the colleague, injuring him in the stomach.

A mob responded and stoned the assailant, killing him. The injured was taken to the hospital, while the body was moved to the mortuary.
