Boda rider, 20, murdered, robbed of his motorcycle in Bungoma

Police said the attackers were targeting his motorcycle, and he may have resisted,d leading to his murder.

The body of Samuel Misango, 20, was found lying on a feeder road after his murder and had a deep cut on the back of his head.

Police moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures following the Monday incident.

Most of the stolen motorcycles are refurbished and sold off to unsuspecting buyers.

Police advise the riders to cooperate with their attackers as part of their safety.

Elsewhere in Matunda, Kakamega County, a guard was killed in a robbery at a bar, police said.

The body of Jesse Chesebe, 38 was found in the bar after he had been killed. His hands were tied with a rope and the neck was also having a rope around it indicating he was strangled.

The body also had cuts on its head, police said adding assorted beers were stolen from the bar.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy even as the hunt on the suspected killers went on, police said.

And in Karaini, Kirinyaga County, the body of one Denis Gitungi was found lying on a footpath after a suspected murder.

Police said blood was oozing from his eyes, ears and mouth with visible marks on both hands. The neck also had signs of strangulation then, police said.

The motive of the murder was not established. The body seemed to have been delivered to the scene after murder elsewhere.

Meanwhile, police are investigating an incident where a man was stoned to death in a failed robbery in Kowino, Suna, Migori County. The deceased was accused of breaking into a building with intentions to steal. He was stoned to death before the body was moved to the mortuary.

Police discourage mob lynching and term it criminal. The police want suspects to be surrendered to authorities for processing and possible prosecution. Up to three cases of mob lynching are reported daily in the country in a worrying trend.

Police said they are investigating all reported incidents with an aim of taking action. This is after it emerged some suspects are framed up before being killed by mobs.
