Kenyan singer Jovial has publicly spoken about her current physical condition, describing her recent weight gain as a “mistake” that she is now intent on correcting.

In remarks shared with her audience, the artist directly linked her physical appearance to her professional plans, explaining that she has several completed music projects that she has chosen not to release yet. 

She specified that her goal is to return to a size 8 or 10, framing the target as part of a broader effort to realign herself with an earlier stage of her career. 

Music on Hold Amid Body Concerns

Jovial indicated that she currently has “amazing songs” ready, but believes that releasing them before addressing her physical state would not be ideal.

"I need to lose weight immediately because I have amazing songs that I'm supposed to release." She said.

Challenges with Movement and Weight

In describing how she feels in her current body, Jovial used imagery related to flight and gravity. She questioned how she is expected to hover or fly, while carrying what she perceives as excess weight.

She explained that when she tries to lift herself off the ground, she inevitably comes back down, a description that conveyed a sense of physical limitation and discomfort. "Napepeaje hivi? Napepea vipi? Niki naumwili napepeaje? Nikijaribu kutoka kwa ground narudi."

An Aversion to Traditional Exercise

Despite expressing a strong desire to lose weight, Jovial was open about her lack of enthusiasm for conventional fitness routines. She stated that gym workouts are not for her and described herself as so lazy when it comes to attending the gym.  "I'm so lazy when it comes to the gym," she said.

She also characterized the process of weight management as “so tough,” noting that she is not drawn to the struggle commonly linked to intense exercise.. She emphasized the need for something that can work immediately, "Recommend me something that can work for me." She noted.
