Global music stars Chris Brown and Davido are preparing to take their long-running musical partnership to new heights with plans for a joint album and an extensive African tour slated for 2026.
The announcement was confirmed by Davido during an interview with Billboard Arabia, where the Afrobeats heavyweight revealed that a full collaborative project with the American R&B star is officially in motion.
The revelation immediately sparked excitement among fans across Africa and beyond, many of whom have followed the duo’s collaborations for years.
Speaking on his career journey during the interview, Davido casually dropped the major update, saying a joint project with Chris Brown is expected next year.
While details around the album remain under wraps, Davido has previously hinted that the pair have already recorded over 20 songs, suggesting a deep and expansive body of work.
Europe and Africa Tour Plans Revealed
The Nigerian superstar has also teased a major tour to accompany the project. During a past appearance on Apple Music’s The Ebro Show, Davido shared that both artists are aligning schedules to allow for a large-scale Europe and Africa tour once the album drops.
According to Davido, the timing was intentional, allowing Chris Brown to focus on his solo releases before turning attention to the joint era.
The planned tour is expected to bring the duo to some of Africa’s biggest cities, marking one of the most high-profile cross-continental music tours in recent years.

A Sound Years in the Making
The upcoming album is expected to blend Afrobeats, R&B and pop, a sound the two artists have refined through years of collaboration.
Davido is currently enjoying strong momentum following the release of his fifth studio album, 5IVE, which includes the fan-favourite track Titanium, another collaboration with Brown.
While Chris Brown’s camp has yet to issue a detailed statement on the project, anticipation continues to build, fueled by the duo’s proven chemistry and commercial success.
A Partnership That Changed the Game
Davido and Chris Brown first joined forces in 2019 with Blow My Mind, a breakout hit that introduced a wider global audience to Afrobeats while expanding Brown’s reach into African markets.
That same year, they collaborated again on Lower Body, followed by Shopping Spree in 2020, which also featured rapper Young Thug.
Their creative partnership went beyond features when Davido co-wrote Chris Brown’s Under the Influence, a track that later became Brown’s biggest streaming song.
The record went viral on TikTok in 2022 and has since surpassed 1.8 billion streams on Spotify, earning Davido a Platinum Songwriting Award from the National Music Publishers’ Association.
Awards, Grammys and Continued Momentum
The duo continued to deliver standout collaborations including Nobody Has to Know in 2022, Sensational in 2023 featuring Lojay, and Hmmm in 2024.
Sensational went on to receive Grammy recognition and multiple NAACP Image Awards, while Hmmm earned Outstanding International Song honours in 2025.
Through these collaborations, Davido has cemented his status as a globally recognised artist, earning Grammy certification as a featured contributor on Chris Brown’s work.
