Ahmed scored an A (Plain) with 81 points and emerged the best student in the region.

Eldas MP Adan Keynan, whose foundation offered the scholarship, described Ahmed’s achievement as remarkable and exemplary.

“Attaining an A (plain) of 81 points is a reflection of immense discipline and unwavering commitment to academic excellence. He has made Eldas constituency and Wajir county proud,” Keynan said on Sunday, while congratulating the school fraternity.

“In recognition of his laudable performance and in the spirit of nurturing excellence, TAKF [The Adan Keynan Foundation] will fully sponsor his higher education,” he said.

The MP added that the success should serve as motivation to learners across Eldas, Wajir and the country at large.

“This achievement affirms the boundless potential that exists among our learners to excel and always strive for the best.”

The legislator assured Ahmed of continued mentorship and support.

“May this achievement mark the beginning of an even greater path of success and service to society,” he said.

Keynan, who has been instrumental in uplifting education standards in his constituency, also commended the school management, teachers and parents for their role in nurturing talent and instilling discipline.

He said their collective dedication has borne admirable fruit and stands as a testament to the transformative power of quality education and shared responsibility.

Ahmed attributed his success to discipline, hard work and the unwavering support he received throughout his academic journey.

“I want to study medicine. My goal is to become a doctor. My ambition goes beyond personal success. I want to give back to my community, especially in northern Kenya, where healthcare services are limited,” Ahmed said.

“I want to sincerely thank my MP who has played a very big part in my success up to this moment. The bursary really came in handy for me. I was never chased from school for lack of school fees.”

Ahmed added that the support went beyond fees, ensuring he had access to essential learning materials that allowed him to focus fully on his studies.

“He also ensured that we had all the required learning materials. Now he has offered to sponsor my education at the university. I can’t thank him enough.”

Ahmed noted that his dreams have now taken a significant step closer to reality following the MP’s pledge to sponsor his university education through his foundation.

Speaking after the release of the results, the school principal, Gedi Samow, thanked parents, teachers and students for their unwavering cooperation and commitment, saying their collective effort was key to the outstanding performance.

“This achievement is the result of dedication and collaboration from all stakeholders. Our teachers remained committed, our students stayed focused, and parents offered maximum support,” Samow said.

He attributed the school’s success to timely syllabus coverage and intensive revision, noting that teachers ensured all content was completed early enough to allow thorough preparation before examinations.

Samow thanked Keynan for his continued support, particularly in improving school infrastructure and ensuring smooth learning operations.

“Our MP has been very supportive since the school was established. He ensured that no student was sent home due to school fees and that the school received everything it requested,” he said.

The principal also welcomed the MP’s decision to award the top student a full scholarship, saying the recognition was well deserved, especially given the student’s humble background.
