The African Music Awards (AFRIMA) 2025 is set to celebrate the continent’s rich musical talent and cultural heritage with a star-studded festival and awards ceremony. Organised by the International Executive Committee of AFRIMA in collaboration with the African Union Commission, and in partnership with the Lagos State Government as the official host city, the annual event promises to be a highlight on Africa’s entertainment calendar.

AFRIMA Music Village

As part of the festival, the AFRIMA Music Village, an open-air concert experience designed to showcase the best of African music, will be broadcast live on pop-up channels on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 8pm. This interactive experience allows fans across the continent and the world to enjoy the festival vibes from home.

Main awards ceremony: January 11

The highlight of the festival, the AFRIMA Awards ceremony, will take place on Sunday, January 11, 2026, and will be co-hosted by Nigerian rapper and actor Falz and French-Senegalese actress and media personality Liliane Maroune. The ceremony will recognise and reward the most outstanding African musical works of the year, with winners representing a wide array of genres, regions, and styles.
