The African Music Awards (AFRIMA) 2025 is set to celebrate the continent’s rich musical talent and cultural heritage with a star-studded festival and awards ceremony. Confirmed performers include Afrobeat legend Femi Kuti, Nigerian hitmakers Wande Coal and Yemi Alade, Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz, and rising sensation Mavo, among others. AFRIMA Music Village

As part of the festival, the AFRIMA Music Village, an open-air concert experience designed to showcase the best of African music, will be broadcast live on pop-up channels on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 8pm. This interactive experience allows fans across the continent and the world to enjoy the festival vibes from home.

Main awards ceremony: January 11

The highlight of the festival, the AFRIMA Awards ceremony, will take place on Sunday, January 11, 2026, and will be co-hosted by Nigerian rapper and actor Falz and French-Senegalese actress and media personality Liliane Maroune. The ceremony will recognise and reward the most outstanding African musical works of the year, with winners representing a wide array of genres, regions, and styles.
