President William Ruto on Saturday participated in the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party grassroots elections at Koilel Primary School in Uasin Gishu County, casting his vote for polling centre-level officials.
The elections are taking place across 20 counties, with party members selecting 20 officials at each polling centre.
Speaking after voting, President Ruto commended the large number of candidates who stepped forward to contest.
He said their participation “strengthens our party and advances the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, which is anchored on inclusive growth and shared prosperity.”

He also praised party members who turned out to vote, describing their participation as an important exercise of their democratic rights.
“As a party, we remain firmly committed to democratic governance and responsive leadership that listens to the people and delivers on their priorities,” President Ruto stated.
The grassroots polls are part of UDA’s ongoing effort to deepen democratic processes within the party and empower members at the local level.
