Shabana head coach Peter Okidi expressed optimism ahead of the game, highlighting the importance of home advantage.
“We know Gor Mahia are a top side with quality in every department. Our focus is to control the game from the first whistle and show our fans that we can compete at this level,” Okidi said.
He added that his players had trained hard during the week and would approach the match tactically, emphasising discipline and intensity as key to success.
Okidi also spoke about the role of the home crowd.
“Our supporters are our twelfth man. Their energy can lift the team, especially during crucial moments,” he said.
Reflecting on the previous fixture against Gor Mahia, he noted that the narrow defeat motivates the players to push harder and claim a positive result this time.

On the other side, Gor Mahia coach Charles Akonnor stressed that his team is focused on extending their unbeaten run and closing the gap on league leaders.
“We are aware of Shabana’s strengths and will approach the game with caution, but we are here to win. Every point matters in the title race,” Akonnor said.
