The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) portal has experienced a temporary technical glitch, causing delays for users trying to access the 2025 KCSE examination results.

The issue is currently affecting candidates, parents and schools attempting to log in to the portal to view individual scores.

The glitch occurred an hour after the official release of the 2025 KCSE examination results by Education CS Julius Ogamba.

Kenyans have taken to social media to express their disappointment, urging the Council to resolve the issue.

Earlier on, Ogamba directed candidates on how to check the results.

Unlike in previous years, candidates will not be able to access their results via the SMS short code.

Instead, the results will only be available online through the KNEC website.

“Individual 2025 KCSE candidates’ examination results will be accessed online through a link on the KNEC website or directly via the URL https://results.knec.ac.ke/,” CS Julius Ogamba said on Friday.

Candidates will be required to enter their index number and any one of their registered names.

"Accept the privacy and access notice, then search for the results," he said.

The results will be available immediately after their release by Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba.

CS Ogamba announced the results at AIC Chebisas High School in Eldoret.

“Checking of KCSE examination provisional results will be available after the release of the KCSE results,” KNEC said.

KNEC CEO said that all queries related to results must be lodged through the heads of institutions within 30 days after the release of results. "Queries lodged after 30 days will attract a fee. Congratulations to all the candidates," he said
