
The Trans Nzoia County Government has advertised vacancies for the Chairperson and five Members of the County Public Service Board (CPSB), in a recruitment drive aimed at strengthening governance and human resource management in the county public service.
The vacancies were announced by the Office of the Governor pursuant to Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and Sections 57 and 58 of the County Governments Act, 2012.
The recruitment process is being conducted by the Trans Nzoia County Public Service Board Selection Panel.
According to the notice, the County Public Service Board is mandated to establish and abolish offices in the county public service, appoint qualified persons to hold or act in those offices, and exercise disciplinary control over county public officers.
The board also advises the county government on human resource planning and development, performance management, remuneration, compliance with constitutional values and principles, and implementation of public service policies.
For the position of Chairperson, the county is seeking a candidate with a bachelor’s degree from a university recognised in Kenya and at least five years’ experience in leadership roles within public administration, human resource management, organisational development or a related field.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and policy direction to the board, coordinating its activities, and ensuring effective collaboration with national and county governments.
Applicants must also demonstrate sound knowledge of public service governance, leadership and management, possess strong integrity in line with Chapter six of the Constitution, and show the ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
The county is also recruiting five members of the County Public Service Board. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university and have a minimum of five years’ experience in administration, management or a related discipline.
In addition, applicants are expected to demonstrate professional competence, managerial and leadership abilities, a clear understanding of county public service operations, and familiarity with national values, goals and principles of governance.
The advertised positions are on non-renewable terms of service, as provided for under the Constitution and the County Governments Act.
Successful applicants will be required to adhere to the values and principles set out in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution, which emphasise integrity, accountability, transparency and ethical leadership.
All applicants must meet the mandatory clearance requirements, including valid certificates from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and a recognised Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).

The deadline for submission is February 26, 2026, at 5.00 pm.
