Digital creator Emilliana Mwikali, popularly known as the 'bestie' to comedian Mulamwah, has shared a distressing account of being robbed in Nairobi.

The influencer revealed that she was left in tears after her high-end iPhone 17 Pro Max was stolen in the Hurlingham area.

The incident occurred on 4 January 2026 at a shopping centre in Hurlingham.

A Public Breakdown

Mwikali took to social media to share the emotional toll of the theft. She described a moment of total vulnerability, admitting that the shock of the loss caused her to break down in public.

"The way I cried on the roadside. Hope no one recorded me,” she posted.

The creator shared an image of herself appearing visibly distraught, wiping away tears with a tissue. She even added a touch of dark humour to the situation, noting she was trying to "hold on to my tears" because she had recently had her eyelash extensions done.

The Theft at Quickmart Hurlingham

According to Mwikali, the theft took place at the Quickmart supermarket in Hurlingham. She shared a photo of the device—a distinctive desert titanium-coloured iPhone—shortly before it was taken.

Following the theft, she attempted to use the "Find My" service to locate the device. However, her screenshots showed the dreaded "No Location Found" status, indicating the phone had been switched off and was offline.

Official Police Report

Mwikali did not rely solely on social media for help. She visited a local police station to formally report the crime. She displayed an official police abstract dated 04/01/26, which listed the complaint as a "Lost Phone" under her name.

"Another iPhone 17 goneeee,” she captioned.

The influencer also shared her contact details, pleading for anyone with information on how to track the device to reach out.However, the situation grew more stressful when she began receiving irrelevant messages, leading her to warn followers to stop texting her number with irrelevant messages.

Nairobi has seen a consistent pattern of phone thefts in recent years. According to recent crime statistics, phone snatching remains one of the most reported petty crimes in the Nairobi Metropolitan area, often targeting high-end devices that are easily resold in the black market.
