Nairobi County’s Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has announced a personal resolution for 2026.
Following a series of high-profile reports from a religious gathering in Nakuru, Mosiria intends to seek spiritual nourishment from Prophet David Owuor.
The official made his intentions known after observing the experiences of other influential figures. These include disability rights activist Mike Makarina and Mumias East MP Peter Salasya.
Both men recently attended a "Grand Mega Rally" hosted by the Repentance and Holiness Ministry.

A Shift in Focus for 2026
Mosiria shared his thoughts on social media after viewing images of Mike Makarina at the Nakuru event. He noted that he believes 2026 is his year to engage with the Prophet’s teachings.
He even joked about collecting Makarina’s wheelchair to give to someone else in need.
"I think this is my year to seek spiritual nourishment from the prophet. If I am blessed, I will give you feedback,” Mosiria posted.
This decision comes at a time when several public figures are turning toward the Ministry for guidance. The Prophet’s rallies in Nakuru are known for attracting hundreds of thousands of followers from across the globe.
The Makarina Healing Claim
The catalyst for much of this attention was Michael Makarina. The outspoken activist has long used a wheelchair for mobility. However, during the New Year rally, he was photographed on a red-carpeted stage being prayed for by Prophet Owuor.

Makarina later claimed he had received divine healing. While he remains in his wheelchair for now, he explained that the delay in walking is physical rather than spiritual.

"I have received healing. It is just that my legs are afraid to walk because they are not used to it." — Michael Makarina.
He urged critics to wait until he finally stands. He described his journey as a miracle that others should eventually acknowledge.
Salasya’s Spiritual Marathon
Another figure influencing the conversation is MP Peter Salasya. The legislator described a "spiritual marathon" during the same event. He reportedly sat for over four hours to listen to a sermon focused on the "fear of God."
Salasya was seen kneeling on the dais in a moment of deep prayer. He later quoted scripture, stating that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.

For a politician known for an energetic public persona, this marked a significant shift toward personal reflection.
The Scale of the Ministry
Prophet David Owuor remains a highly influential figure in East Africa. His ministry’s headquarters are located in Nakuru, which serves as the hub for these massive conferences.
