A 43-year-old man died after being attacked by a swarm of bees in Kitui County.

The incident occurred on Sunday morning when Simon Kanyalo went to harvest honey at his farm in Nuu village, police said.

The bees fatally attacked him.

Locals rushed to help, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital, police added.

Authorities are investigating the incident.

In a separate incident in Lungalunga, Nairobi, a man was electrocuted after touching an illegally connected power cable.

Police reported that the man was attempting to cross a wall into a school compound on Sunday morning, December 28, 2025, when he came into contact with a live wire.

He died instantly, and police moved his body to the mortuary. Authorities said they are investigating the incident.

Officials noted that illegal power connections in many informal settlements increase the risk of electrocution.

The government announced plans to address the issue through legal connections.

Meanwhile, a two-year-old girl was killed in a fire incident in Dandora, Nairobi.

Police said the fire affected two houses and a nearby church. The child’s mother had gone to a tailor and returned to find her home on fire.

Locals assisted in containing the flames, which destroyed the house and part of the church’s iron sheet roof.

The child’s remains were taken to the mortuary pending an autopsy and further procedures.

In Navakholo, Kakamega County, police are investigating a fire that destroyed several water pipes stored at the local Ministry of Water offices.

The incident occurred on the morning of December 28.

Local officials said the fire spread quickly, damaging property before it was contained within minutes.

A team of experts is examining the cause of the fire.
