Kenya Railways has warned Kenyans against a fake job advertisement circulating on various social media platforms.
The organisation cautioned job seekers to remain vigilant to avoid falling victim to fraudsters.
In a public alert, the corporation clarified that the job advert making rounds online is not genuine and did not originate from Kenya Railways.
The agency urged Kenyans to exercise caution and verify all job opportunities through its official channels.
“We wish to alert members of the public about a fake job advertisement doing rounds on various social media platforms,” Kenya Railways said in a statement on X.
The corporation advised job seekers to confirm the authenticity of any recruitment notices by visiting its official website at www.krc.co.k, noting that all legitimate job opportunities are published exclusively through official platforms.
Kenya Railways reminded Kenyans that it does not charge any fees at any stage of its recruitment process and encouraged anyone who encounters suspicious job adverts to report them to the relevant authorities.
In the fake advertisement, KRA said it had opened applications for multiple positions as part of its 2023–2027 Strategic Plan.
The move, the poster noted, aimed at strengthening the rail transport sector and increasing its contribution to national growth and economic development.
The fake recruitment drive offered a total of 473 vacancies across management, technical, and support roles.
Key positions include Legal Services Manager, Graduate Trainees, Registered Nurses, Locomotive Controllers, Drivers, and Customer Officers, among others.
According to the poster, the recruitment is part of ongoing efforts to enhance efficiency, service delivery, and overall operational capacity.
