Cost of living concerns will be the single most important factor shaping voter choices in the 2027 General Election, according to a new public opinion poll by Infotrak Research & Consulting.
The survey found that 46 per cent of respondents identified the high cost of living as the top issue that will influence how they vote in the next polls.
According to the poll, anti-corruption and access to quality healthcare emerged as the second most important considerations, with each cited by 27 per cent of respondents.
The findings suggest that while economic pressures dominate public discourse, concerns over governance and service delivery remain deeply entrenched among voters.
Education ranked closely behind, with 26 per cent of respondents saying it would shape their electoral decisions.
This reflects growing anxiety over the quality of learning, affordability of education and the implementation of ongoing reforms in the sector.
Youth employment was cited by 25 per cent of those surveyed, highlighting persistent worries over joblessness and limited economic opportunities for young people, who make up a significant portion of the electorate.
Leadership integrity was mentioned by 23 per cent of respondents, pointing to voter expectations for ethical and accountable leadership.
Economic management followed at 21 per cent, an indication that broader concerns about fiscal discipline, public debt and overall economic direction remain relevant to voters.
The poll was sponsored and financed by Infotrak Research & Consulting Limited
The survey was conducted on December 19-20, 2025
Quantitative interviews were conducted through Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews (CATI)
The survey sample achieved was 1000 to represent the universe of adult Kenyans who were 18 years and above at the time of the survey. The sampling frame was designed using Population Proportionate to size (PPS) guided by the 2019 Census.
The margin of error was ±3.10% at 95 per cent degree of confidence.
The survey covered all the 47 counties and 8 regions of Kenya. To ensure national representativeness, the distribution of the survey sample across the regions was proportionately allocated.
