Police are investigating an incident where a 40-year-old man died after jumping from the fifth floor of a house in a suspected suicide case in Drive Inn area, Nairobi.

Police identified him as Nicholas Okello. He is said to have climbed to the roof top of an apartment and leapt off to his death.

The motive of the incident was not established. The incident happened on Christmas Eve. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

Elsewhere in Wanguru, Mwea, Kirinyaga County, one Humphrey Mwai, 47 was found dead outside his house after a suspected murder.

The incident happened in Matandara village in Mathangauta sub location in Nyangati location, police said.

The body had a visible deep stab wound below the right ear and the deceased is believed to have been injured elsewhere as there was no indication of a struggle at the scene.

The motive of the murder is yet to be established and no murder weapon was recovered, police said adding the body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy. In Kiganjo, Gatundu, Kiambu County, the body of Derrick Mwaura Githu, 24 was found lying with visible bruise on his right ear and the right eye.

And five police officers were injured in a confrontation with a mob in Nchiru, Tigania, Meru County.

The team had responded to a scene where there was a case of malicious damage to property when they were attacked. Five suspects were arrested in the drama on December 24, police said.

The injured officers were treated and discharged from hospital.
