Detectives are investigating an incident where a 51-year-old man died in a fire incident in a village in Juja, Kiambu County.

The incident happened in Macedonia village in Theta Ward on Wednesday, police said.

The body of Jackson Kabogo Wairimu was found burnt long after his house had been gutted by a fire.

The cause of fire could not be conclusively established. However, preliminary findings suggest that the fire may have originated from a lit candle or cigarette. During the incident, property of unknown value was burnt to ashes.

In Embati, Emuhaya, Vihiga County, a man was found dead in his house after being assaulted by five men.

He was identified as Wellington Atulwa.

The motive of the attack was not known. Police responded to his cries to the house and confronted the assailants prompting a shooting. They escaped with bullet wounds, police said.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

In Langalanga, Gilgil, Nakuru County, a man was found dead and his body abandoned on the Mbegi-Murindat road.

The victim was identified as Gacheru Wangombe, 48. Police said the victim had wounds on the head, face and left eye. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

In Yala, Siaya County, a 50-year-old man was killed in a confrontation at a home, he was identified as David Opondo, police said.

A second man was injured and rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Police said they are investigating the incident as they moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

In Meru Town, a man was lynched and his body set on fire in a failed robbery incident. The deceased’s body was later moved to the mortuary pending identification and autopsy.

In Ntumu, Tharaka Nithi County, a suspect was stoned and his body set on fire. The suspect was accused of being part of a gang that has been terrorizing locals.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending identification and autopsy.

In Kiamariga, Nyeri County, the body of one Millicent Wangui Kariithi, 53 was found floating in a swamp.

The deceased's rubber shoes were found placed on the banks of the swamp and the body had an old burn wound on the face which family members present allege was as a result of falling into a fire while cooking since she was epileptic.

Additionally, the deceased had been suffering from mental instability and had been running away from her home severally, the family claimed.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
