Tragedy as man is stabbed, killed in a fight in Highrise, Nairobi

The body of Sydney Ayondi was found in a pool of blood minutes after he had been stabbed by an assailant who police said was his friend.

The two fought over unknown reasons before Ayondi was stabbed in the chest. The assailant escaped the scene soon after the December 23, 2025 incident.

Police were called and moved the body to the mortuary pending a postmortem.

The motive of the incident was not immediately established, police said.

Elsewhere in Maranda, Bondo, Siaya County, one Cynthia Anyango, 21, was found killed outside their home.

The body of the woman was found lying in a pool of blood after the murder on Tuesday, police said.

The motive of the incident was not known.

Police said the woman was stabbed by her boyfriend in an altercation. The assailant escaped the scene. Locals later torched a house belonging to the suspect.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy as the police hunt for the suspect.

And in Cheptulu, Vihiga County, a group of night guards was arrested after they fatally beat up a man who ventured into a gold mining site. The site is privately owned and was under guard when a group tried to venture there on Monday night, police said.

The guards on duty responded and caught up with one of them before they beat him to death.

He was pronounced dead in hospital where he had been rushed to, police said.

Elsewhere, dtectives are investigating the murder of a 69-year-old man whose body was found on the roadside in Sagana Town, Kirinyaga County.

He was identified as Githinji Maguta who was a driver in the town.

Police said the body was discovered long after his murder with his trouser on his knees.

The body had physical injuries on the eyes, forehead and mouth.

The cause of the death was not immediately known and the body was moved to the mortuary pending investigations and autopsy.

Elsewhere in Kiambaa, Kapseret, Uasin Gishu County, the body of a man was found lying on the roadside.

The man was later identified as Kennedy Kibet, 32. The cause of the death was not immediately known, police said as they moved the body to the mortuary.

In Maua, Igembe, Meru County, the body of one Koome Kiunga, 40 was found on the roadside after his murder.

Police said the man was accused of stealing miraa in the area when he was attacked by a mob.

The body had deep cuts on the neck, legs and stomach.

Cases of mob lynching have been on the rise in the past month amid efforts to address the menace.

Most of the cases are pending. Police say some of the victims are framed up and murdered by the assailants for various reasons.

Police have been advising that suspects be surrendered to authorities for processing and possible prosecution.

And police in Olokurto, Narok County are investigating an incident where the body of a man was found in a river after a suspected murder.

The body was found on the Siyabei river with injuries on the head, hands and back. The motive of the murder was not known and the body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
