Reports have now emerged detailing the final hours of former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo, who died early Saturday in a road accident along the Nakuru-Naivasha Highway while driving from Naivasha towards Nairobi.
He was 64.
According to reports, Jirongo spent Friday evening at a restaurant in the company of a senior government official.
During the late-evening meeting, the two were seen sitting alone in a corner for several hours, appearing to hold a private discussion.
At one point, another politician arrived but did not join them.
The senior government official left earlier, leaving Jirongo behind.
Reports indicate that Jirongo later called the politician who had arrived but not joined them, saying he would reach out shortly.
Shortly afterwards, the same politician received a call from a relative who had been informed about an accident involving Jirongo in Naivasha.
