Radio Africa Group held a vibrant celebration on  on November 13, 2025  to honor several major wins at the Pulse Influencer Awards and the Strategic Business and Leadership Awards 2025, marking a proud moment for one of Kenya’s most prominent media houses.

During the event ,Radio Africa Group CEO Martin Khafafa was celebrated for winning  CEO of the Year under the Strategic Business and Leadership Awards  .

Kalondu Musyimi, one of the company’s rising stars, was also  celebrated for winning Best Media Blogger of the Year at the Pulse Awards, where she also bagged the Best Dressed Personality award.

Not forgetting Radio Jambo also received a lot of congratulations for being named Kenya’s Number One Radio Station.

The celebration, hosted at the company’s headquarters, brought together staff, presenters, and executives, all eager to honor their colleagues’ achievements. The event featured cake cutting, speeches, and heartfelt tributes to the winners.

CEO Martin Khafafa: “We’ve navigated stormy waters together”

The ceremony was moderated by Jemimah Ngode, Head of Human Resources, who welcomed the CEO to address staff. In his speech, Martin Khafafa expressed deep gratitude to the entire Radio Africa team for their dedication and resilience.

“Congratulations on your big win, Kalondu. We don’t take it for granted,” he said, lauding her for representing the company with excellence on national platforms.

Reflecting on the company’s growth, Khafafa noted that Radio Africa had successfully navigated challenging times to remain a leader in Kenya’s media landscape.

“We have been successful in navigating stormy waters,” he remarked, acknowledging the hard work and creativity that have kept the group ahead.

He also encouraged staff to view their roles through a business-minded lens:

“Don’t see yourself as just a writer, editor, or news anchor — see yourself as a person in business. I told the leadership that anyone who brings ideas that translate into cash will be compensated.”

Kalondu Musyimi: “This win belongs to the entire Radio Africa family”

Kalondu, who has made a name for herself through engaging entertainment content and celebrity interviews, delivered an emotional message of gratitude.

“Thank you so much, Radio Africa Group, for the special commendation and for always believing in my work. It truly means a lot to be recognized by the family that shaped and nurtured my media journey,” she said.

She dedicated her award to her colleagues and mentors who have guided her growth within the company.

“This win is not just mine; it’s a reflection of the incredible mentorship, support, and opportunities I’ve received along the way. I am deeply grateful and inspired to keep raising the bar.”

Management and colleagues commend the winners

David Muba, Radio Africa’s Digital Lead, took the opportunity to commend the team’s collective effort in driving innovation and revenue growth across platforms.

“I want to appreciate everyone for the money you’ve brought in through product production — let’s keep doing that,” he said. “Kalondu is hardworking, respectful, and impactful. She has not only worked for us but has also made a difference in the entire media industry.”

Jacob Mulee,  popurarly known as 'Ghost ' ,the veteran Radio Jambo host famed for shows like Patanisho, also shared his admiration for Kalondu and gratitude to the broader Radio Africa team.

“Kalondu, well done. I’ve been following your Quickfire segment — I love your style, confidence, and passion. It’s taken you far, and we are proud of you,” Ghost said.

He also extended his appreciation to everyone who has contributed to Radio Jambo’s continued dominance in Nairobi’s radio market.

“I want to thank everyone because Radio Jambo being number one in Nairobi is the result of everyone’s effort here.”
