Renowned personality Betty Bayo’s last moments were marked by a sudden decline in her health, as narrated by her close friend , Shiro wa GP during a gathering that was held on tuesday by close friends and family members . She described the tense morning:
“Nilimpeleka upstairs, nikaamsha msichana wake wa kazi juu alikua amelala. Nikaangalia Danny na Sky nikapata wamelala vizuri. Nikaambia msichana wa kazi usilale ndio Betty akiitana uende umpee maji. Sa hizo ilikua saa nane.”
Shiro ensured everyone was settled before returning home, unaware of the looming tragedy.
A Sudden Medical Emergency
Later that morning , Shiro received alarming news. Betty began bleeding severely.

When Betty's house girl saw her she called her and asked her ,''mum unaenda wapi ?'' Acting quickly, Betty’s house girl took immediate action.
“Huyo msichana akachukua funguo za gari akafungua gari na akaanza kupiga horn estate mzima, ndio neighbours na security wakakuja. Neighbour wake alimchukua akampeleka AAR.”
Hospital Challenges and critical Diagnosis
Upon arrival at the hospital, Betty faced difficulties due to lack of funds. Shiro intervened to cover part of the bills. “Nakumbuka nililipa Ksh 250,000 kwa sababu marafiki walikua wametoa 1.3 million Ksh wakiwa watu 30.”
Despite their efforts, Betty’s condition worsened. “Wakati nilifika hapo six after tumelipa pesa Betty alichukuliwa na hapo ndio nilijua hayuko sawa kwa sababu alikua anarudia kitu moja. ‘Nataka damu, A+’ nikaona huyu si Betty niliacha usiku.”

Doctors eventually revealed a devastating underlying condition. “Tukaambiwa alikua na ugonjwa ulikua umejificha kwa mwili acute myeloid leukemia. Na niligoogle nikaona inacause fatigue.”
Courage in the Face of Illness
Shiro highlighted Betty’s bravery even in her final moments. “Betty alikua strong na wakati wake wa mwisho alipoteza speech. Wakati niliona speech imeenda niliambia kina Ben Githau tuite watoto wa Betty kwa sababu tulikua tunataka kumpiga transfer aende Kenyatta Hospital aanze chemotherapy.”

Final Days and Lasting Legacy
Betty spent two days at Kenyatta National Hospital, but the cancer had already taken a serious toll. Shiro emphasized the importance of family support: “Ile kitu tunaeza fanya ni kusimama na watoto wake.”
Tragically, Betty Bayo passed away on 10 November 2025. Her story is a heartbreaking reminder of the fragility of life and the strength of those facing terminal illness.
