Top state official in foul mood after being denied visa

A popular destination in the Gulf seems to be the favourite hub for political deal-making for a top political figure in the country. Corridors of Power has learnt that the plan to convince one of the political parties was hatched during a foreign trip, and a meeting was organised by the close allies of the top political leader in the Gulf city. However, the meeting didn’t materialise as the political party leader who was being sought after declined to travel. Instead, he purportedly said if they wanted to speak to him, they knew his home and he was not ready for the meeting abroad.

It is alleged that a high-ranking parliamentarian aligned with the ruling party is likely to lose his prestigious parliamentary role. The legislator has persistently been the thorn in the flesh of the government, criticising the leader, his allies, and policies in and outside Parliament.  The veteran politician has supposedly been holding meetings with opposition-linked leaders, further annoying the power players in government. His recent backing of an opposition candidate in one of the by-elections is said to be the last nail in the coffin.

A senior government official is reportedly furious after being denied a visa to a far Eastern Asian country. The reasons for the denial of the visa are still unclear. The official, who was overheard lamenting the decision, is said to be in a seemingly foul mood amid reports that more senior government figures could soon face similar denials over alleged graft concerns — a move that now appears to extend beyond Western nations to include Asian countries as well.

The lawmaker, who is alleged to have recently acquired a chopper, has been seen traversing the country in it. Recently, he stunned his colleagues after he arrived at an event by air. Even more surprisingly, the aircraft remained parked at the venue under the watch of armed police officers throughout the function. This fuelled speculation and raised questions about the source of his newfound wealth.
