Cardi B's Explosive Claims About Offset's Divorce Demands

Cardi B has revealed why her divorce from rapper Offset remains unresolved more than a year after she filed in July 2024.

Speaking candidly during a livestream on X Spaces on September 22, the rapper claimed that financial disputes — not emotions — are keeping her legally tied to her estranged husband.

Cardi B’s Frustration

During the livestream, Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Almánzar, explained why she is still legally married despite moving on with her life and even announcing her pregnancy with NFL star Stefon Diggs.

“The only reason why I’m still married is because somebody wants me to pay for their taxes,” Cardi B, 32, said, alluding to Offset, 33.

She went on to detail the conditions she alleges are being placed on the divorce process.

“Y’all wanna know the tea? The only way I can get out of my marriage is if I pay for somebody else’s taxes, even though I pay for my own, and give them one of my properties. I’mma fight for that. This is not no love s---. I’m not gonna stop living my life.”

Offset’s Alleged Demands

According to Cardi, the unresolved split hinges on three main demands:

Payment of Offset’s taxes -She claims he is demanding that she settle his outstanding back taxes.

Transfer of one of her properties -Cardi further alleged that Offset wants one of her properties signed over to him

Other financial concessions she considers unfair

She made it clear she has no intention of meeting these demands, emphasising her refusal to “pay for somebody else’s taxes” or give away property unjustly.

A Prolonged Divorce

The delay has surprised fans, especially since Cardi B initially filed for divorce last year. Many expected a swift resolution given the couple’s high-profile relationship, but instead, the dispute has turned into a drawn-out legal and financial standoff.

The former couple, who share three children, continue to attract widespread attention as the case unfolds.
