Kenyan media personalities Presenter Ali and Oga Obinna have shocked fans after admitting that their much-publicised beef was not real.

The two revealed that all their confrontations, viral videos, and heated exchanges were scripted for showbizz.

However, during an episode of Obinna’s show, the pair set the record straight.

Obinna told viewers, “Mimi and Ali never had beef, those videos you saw tulikua tunazipanga.” Ali agreed with him, confirming that everything was planned content meant to capture attention online.

How the “Beef” Story Began

The supposed fallout between the two had earlier been traced back to Obinna’s anger after Ali interviewed his baby mama.

At the time, Obinna accused Ali of dragging family into publicity stunts and said he felt disrespected. “Mimi na Presenter Ali are enemies. He interviewed my baby mama and they spent an hour spreading lies. Do not include family in your wars,” Obinna told Kamene Goro.

Kamene also supported Obinna, saying she personally did not like Ali after he once kept her waiting.

The feud intensified when a video went viral showing Obinna refusing to greet Ali during a public appearance. The clip fuelled speculation that their relationship had completely broken down.

Clout as Currency

By admitting the feud was fake, the two exposed how much of the entertainment industry thrives on staged drama. Fake beefs have long been used to drive views, boost popularity, and keep creators trending.

Either way, the pair’s confession proves one thing: in today’s digital world, clout remains one of the most powerful currencies.

But it also leaves fans questioning—how much of what they see online is authentic?

For Ali and Obinna, the stunt worked. They stayed in headlines, gained attention, and sparked endless online debates.
