Kenya’s national football team, the Harambee Stars, achieved a monumental victory against Morocco in the 2024 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN).

The win was a huge moment for the team, but a promised KSh 1 million reward from musician Kevin Bahati has become a hot topic.

Weeks after the win, the money is still missing, leaving fans to wonder if the pledge was genuine support or a publicity stunt.

The Unfulfilled Pledge

Bahati publicly promised the team a KSh 1 million bonus if they could defeat Morocco. Harambee Stars delivered, winning the game 1-0 despite playing with ten men for a large portion of the match

The singer later stated that CAF regulations were causing a delay and that he was working with the FKF Vice president to sort out the logistics.

However, with more than two weeks having passed, the unfulfilled promise has left many questioning his intentions.

Samidoh’s Cheeky Jab

Adding to the drama, Mugithi star Samidoh took a playful dig at Bahati. After a game of pool with the singer, Samidoh posted a funny message on social media, advising the Harambee Stars to "move on" and joked that their reward might come in the form of mangoes.

"From what I hear, Harambee Stars have no luck with Bahati. Kindly move on! There’s no hope here; I think you’ll be paid in mangoes when the season comes." — Samidoh

The post Gained traction, and fans quickly joined in on the banter.
