Kenya's Harambee Stars captain, Abud Omar, has offered a rare glimpse into his personal life and financial plans, including what he intends to do with a KES 2.5 million reward.
During a rapid-fire interview with Mpasho's Kalondu Musyimi, the 32-year-old defender, whose real name is Abud Omar Khamis, shared insights ranging from his football journey to his closest relationships.
Omar, known by his current nickname "Abud”, confidently described the Harambee Stars right now in one powerful word: "Heroes".

Future Plans for KES 2.5 Million Reward
Abud Omar candidly discussed his intentions for the KES 2.5 million. He expressed a strong desire to honour his father, indicating a deep sense of gratitude.
"Spoiling my dad because he is the one who has raised me, so I think he deserves it," Omar stated.

Beyond personal gifting, the captain also indicated a sensible approach to his finances, focusing on long-term growth.
"I would also like to invest a lot. Buy land," he revealed, adding that buying land would be his primary investment focus.

When asked about his best friend, Omar unequivocally said, "My best friend is my child, my son".

Similarly, when it comes to texting, he splits his attention between two important people in his life. Omar stated, "I think my dad and my wife are the people he texts most.
Harambee Stars’ Recent Triumphs and Rewards
The Harambee Stars have recently garnered significant attention and rewards following their impressive performances on the pitch. Each Harambee Stars player received KES 2.5 million from President William Ruto after their triumphant 1-0 victory against Zambia's Chipolopolo on Sunday evening.
Additionally, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga topped up this amount with KES 500k for each player.
