The call also brought further good news for Kamau; he was informed that the government's tax on winnings had been removed. This meant the entire colossal sum would be deposited directly into his bank account.
Karauri assured him, "So hii pesa yote inaingia kwa mfuko yako".
A Humble Reaction to Immense Fortune
Despite winning such a life-changing amount, Mr Kamau's initial reaction was remarkably humble and reflective. When asked how he felt, he replied, "Unajua ningekuwa yaani nimeumbwa vitofauti sana," adding, "Na vitu zingine ni God hata huwezi jua yaani wacha tu tuseme ni God".
He attributed his immense luck to divine intervention, stating simply, "It’s God’s doing". Captain Karauri expressed his own joy and the relief of the SportPesa team, noting how long it had been since someone won the top prize.

A New Chapter Begins
"Congratulations, sanafrommimi na SportPesa team yetu si wote," Karauri conveyed. He emphasised the profound impact this win would have, stating unequivocally, "Maisha yako imebadilika kabisa kabisa".
Kamau concurred, acknowledging, "kabisa ni ukweli tu". Captain Karauri further advised that with proper planning, the money could secure not only his future but also that of his children. Kamau agreed, "kabisa".
