As the CHAN 2024 tournament nears kick off, fans are urged to make early arrangements and adhere to official ticketing channels to enjoy a seamless matchday experience.

The long-awaited CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament is set to run from August 2 to August 30, jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

The tournament will bring together top footballing nations across Africa, showcasing local talent in a month-long football extravaganza.

Ticket sales in Kenya officially opened on Wednesday, July 23, and are available exclusively online via chan.mookh.com.

For fans looking to attend matches involving the Harambee Stars, including the already sold out opening clash against DR Congo on August 3 at Kasarani Stadium, early preparation is key.

“All tickets will be sold exclusively online, in compliance with the CAF’s guidelines as we prepare to host AFCON 2027,” Football Kenya Federation (FKF) said.

The 2024 CHAN final will be played at Kasarani.

FKF said only two ticket categories will be available for purchase for all matches.

Ordinary tickets (Sh200) – These allow access to the stands behind the goalposts. 

At Kasarani Stadium, this includes access to the upper sections.

Silver tickets (Sh500) – These are located along the long side of the pitch, offering fans a clear view of both goalposts.

They are directly opposite the VIP/VVIP stands.

“No VIP or VVIP tickets will be available for sale. Entry to these zones is strictly limited to invited and accredited guests only,” FKF clarified.

For security and organisational reasons, no tickets will be sold at the stadium or on match day.

Fans must purchase in advance through the official online platform.

“Buyers are warned to be weary of individuals other than the official website selling tickets to the tournament,” the federation said.

  • Do children need to pay for tickets and what age? YES, all attendees are required to have a ticket to access the stadiums, except infants (0–9 months).
  • Can we buy VIP tickets/VVIP tickets? NO, this is by invitation only.
  • We are looking to sit together but have been allocated seats in different rows: As long as your tickets are in the same section, you will be able to sit together. 
  • Can we buy tickets at the gates on game day? NO, all tickets must be bought in advance and online.

Matchday Guidelines

When purchasing tickets, fans are advised to take note of the following key details:

  • Match kick-off time
  • Gate opening time – Gates will open at least 5 hours before kick-off to ensure smooth entry
  • Allocated entry gate
  • Stadium section assigned to your ticket

Clear signage will be provided on match days to help guide fans to the correct entrances and seating areas.

"Please note that only those with valid tickets will be allowed into the stadium," FKF said.

It said additional updates regarding access routes and road closures on match days will be communicated in due course.

Group Bookings

If you’re attending matches with friends or in a group, it is strongly recommended to buy tickets together to improve your chances of sitting in the same section.

“Seating allocation is based on demand and availability, so early booking is encouraged,” FKF said.
