Content creator Nyaboke Moraa is marking one of the most painful anniversaries a mother can endure – one year since the passing of her 19-year-old daughter, Achieng.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, July 28, 2025, Moraa shared a heartfelt tribute. Alongside her words, she posted a glowing photo of Achieng, smiling brightly – a frozen moment of joy in what has been a year consumed by grief.

“Today marks exactly one year since you left the world, and left with my heart. My little girl, jameni. How do I live like it is ok? Every day is a different kind of pain Mungu wangu. My Achieng jameni. I don’t know how to say rest in peace. Sijui kabisa. One year down, forever to go.”
Achieng, Moraa’s daughter with influencer Blak Aende, died at just 19. She was laid to rest on August 10, 2024, in a private family ceremony. The family has never publicly disclosed the cause of her death.
Life After Loss
In the year following the tragedy, Moraa has been brutally honest about her journey through grief. She has openly shared her struggles, from days where getting out of bed felt impossible to moments when eating or speaking seemed pointless.

She confessed that the pain of losing a child swallowed her whole.

She also bravely revealed that she turned to unhealthy coping mechanisms in an attempt to numb the pain. This admission resonated deeply with many who have followed her story from the beginning, showing the raw realities of profound loss.
On Therapy and Healing
Despite encouragement from her many fans, Moraa has openly expressed her resistance to therapy. In a past post, she even brushed off the suggestion with dark humour, saying she'd rather use the money to buy milk for her children.
While some applauded her raw honesty and personal approach to grief, others continue to gently urge her to seek professional help, especially for the sake of her remaining children. Regardless, her courage in sharing such profound vulnerability has drawn overwhelming support online.
