How you can be banned for life from entering US

The government of the United States of America has warned against fraud and illegal migration to the country.

In a statement on X, the US embassy said they are exploring an interagency move to advance efforts in combating fraud and end illegal immigration.

The embassy warned against committing fraud, saying perpetrators will be banned for life from entering the US.

“Those who commit visa fraud will be banned from the United States for life. A nation without borders is not a nation. We will pursue criminal charges against those who engage in visa fraud and those who bring in and harbour illegal aliens,” the embassy said on Wednesday.

According to the U.S. Embassy in Kenya Chargé d’Affaires Marc Dillard, the foundation of the U.S.-Kenya partnership is the strong relationships between the people, including thousands of students, tourists, and business travelers who move legally between the United States and Kenya every year.

However, not every traveller follows the law, and those who violate U.S. immigration law harm both the United States and legitimate travellers.

To make America safe, strong, and prosperous, he said, President Trump is ensuring adherence to U.S. immigration laws.  

He added that if one tries to enter the United States illegally, lies to get a visa, works without legal permission, or stay in the United States after the visa or visa waiver period expires, they will face serious penalties: these include jail time, deportation, and a permanent ban on obtaining a U.S. visa in the future.

“The fair application of the rule of law is a cornerstone of democratic societies, including the United States and Kenya. Although some people believe they can sneak into the US and avoid being caught, this is not true. The Trump Administration has strengthened border security and greatly increased the number of illegal aliens being arrested and deported,“ he said in a statement published on the website.

“The U.S. visa process is the most secure in the world. Yet, some people unwisely still try to cheat the system by using fake documents, lying on applications, or staying after their visa expires. These are examples of visa fraud, and it is a serious crime. If you break the law in this way, you may never be allowed to enter the United States again and may face additional penalties. Moreover, failure to tell the whole truth during your visa interview will result in a denial and could lead to long-term ineligibility.”
