The Public Service Commission has advertised 4,000 vacancies for internship (Cohort 1), under the State Department for Housing and Urban Development.

In a notice on Tuesday’s issue of My Gov, PSC listed the vacant positions in the areas of architecture, civil engineering, construction management, electrical and mechanical engineering, quantity surveying, and structural engineering.

Communication and branding, environment practitioners, geoinformation, health and safety, interior design, land surveying/geospatial, landscape architecture, realtors, social development, urban and regional planning.

Digital marketing, accountants, architectural assistant, data entry clerks, financial analysts, building inspector, inspector civil engineering, inspector electrical, legal, quantity surveying assistant, structural assistant.

Supply chain management, data analysts, data science and/or AI, ICT, inspector of gas/refrigeration, inspector plumbing and drainage, economics, actuarial, HR, gender and development studies, valuers, property managers and property marketers.

The Commission stated that for appointment to an internship position, a candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in any of the above disciplines from a recognised university and have graduated not earlier than 2018.

A candidate should also be proficient in computer skills. 

Internship duties will include, but not be limited to, completing duties mutually agreed upon and assigned by the supervisors, documenting relevant skills acquired in their areas of deployment in the Affordable Housing Programme and Marketing project sites across the country.

Successful candidates will also actively participate in any relevant mentorship activities and additional responsibilities designed for the programme. 

The internship will last for a year, with a non-renewable stipend.

The interns will be paid a stipend by the State Department for Housing and Urban Development, at a rate as determined by the government.

The Commission further stated that on successful completion of the Internship Programme, the interns will be awarded a certificate by the State Department for Housing and Urban Development.
